The user appears to be frustrated by the deletion process and has stated that they will write about their experience on Reddit;[1] "spreading that in larger reddit communities".[2] They have also said that they "should be mailing associated privacy organisations"[3] and they will write to their "appropriate authority in my region".[4] Their intention in writing to their authority is not particularly clear; is it so that legal action can be taken against Wikimedia Commons (in which case it is a legal threat) or is it so that their authority can provide advice to help resolve the situation (in which case there is no threat)? Their tone and actions haven't been particularly helpful in trying to resolve the situation but I would have to assume something that they haven't written in order to see a specific legal threat there. From Hill To Shore (talk) 15:02, 28 August 2020 (UTC)
  • Their mention of local authorities seems to be a legal threat — the fact that the envolvement of such authorities in this process is likely to be a waste of everybody’s time ties to the other item of the OP: lack of competence. -- Tuválkin 17:15, 28 August 2020 (UTC)
  • Here, Prompri accuses User:E4024 of «pretending to be» an admin. Being clueless is not a crime, we all were once new and young; being aggressive against others based on one’s own cluelessness is as bad as being aggressive for any other reason. -- Tuválkin 17:20, 28 August 2020 (UTC)

im talking about Privacy related organisation, and i dont know how rules work , but if i get a unfair block i would consult that in reddit, dont quote half-assedly Prompri (talk) 18:49, 28 August 2020 (UTC) YOU GUYS ARE MAKING IT CONFUSING, THE MOMENT HE CALLED ME LESS INTELLIGENT UNCIVILLY, SINCE THEN I SNAPPED, THAT THIS WIKI IS A BS. YOU GUYS ARE MAKING UP THINGS AND STARTED A QUIET NICE DOXXING DRAMA, THAT DOESNT DEFINE AS THREAT. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW FIRST, WHY THEY QUESTIONED ME ABOUT MY INTELLIGENCEPrompri (talk) 18:53, 28 August 2020 (UTC) and the long pages of rules with many articles confuses, i dont know how really things work here, which really confuses and scares me. and now this drama, i dont know what im supposed to do.Prompri (talk) 18:55, 28 August 2020 (UTC) I was clearly asking for help from privacy org, hope with that misconfusions are cleared. I dont see why they went making another drama, with asking for the clarification of it, "this wiki sys. seems rotten", again dont unfairly ban for my opinion, its honest critic and wiki should learn from it mistakes.Prompri (talk) 19:02, 28 August 2020 (UTC) can you define "gross incompetence" i snapped because one of your admin questioned my intelligence, in the very beginning, i dont how experienced staffs failed to manage the situation without apologizing in the beginning, when i mentioned it out. (again, its honest critic) the conversation was civil at first @Jeff G.: if i get banned for letting know about my approaches to privacy org, gone postal should get banned as well for calling me less intelligent first. i said about asking for consultation from privacy org but not from wiki.

im in wikia for several years their customer service is better, im also sysop of several anime wikias. never had such a worst drama @Tuvalkin: mind stop stalking me creepily that dude has block log of sock puppets, he might harm me later, so i was concerned again, why would you say my incompetence is gross Anw, Im thankful to Mr. From Hill To Shore, for listening to me and giving me positive advises. But I do regret when I acted chidishly with other admin, gone postal from snapping. The guy with sock puppet ban was suspicious and deleting my talk discussions, check his contribution log. I had my reasons. take note, i wrote up messed jumbled thoughts, i again apologize for my childishness

  • At the DR linked above, Prompri has asked for their account to be deleted along with personal information that may have been revealed in parts of their edit history. Can someone advise the user on how to get their account deleted? From Hill To Shore (talk) 11:28, 29 August 2020 (UTC)
@From Hill To Shore, Prompri: As stated in w:en:WP:RTV, Due to all contributions being licensed under the CC BY-SA 3.0 License and the GFDL, it is not possible to delete an account. --Prahlad (talk to me / what I've done) 15:33, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
@Prahlad balaji: As also stated on that page, A courtesy vanishing may be implemented when a user in good standing decides not to return, and for whatever reason wishes to make their contributions harder to find or to remove their association with their edits. When there is no administrative need to retain the information, a permanently departing user may request that a wide range of user pages, and other pages that affect him or her alone, be deleted on departure. Under the provisions of the Creative Commons licence, the user may request a change in how they are credited.[5] The vanishing process appears to support that by disguising the personal information Prompri believes they have revealed in previous edits. My question is, how can Prompri ask for an equivalent process be carried out on Commons to that described in the Wikipedia guideline you linked to? From Hill To Shore (talk) 16:06, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
@From Hill To Shore: I dunno, please ask at help desk. --Prahlad (talk to me / what I've done) 17:09, 30 August 2020 (UTC)

Requestupload[edit]

Requestupload (talk · contributions · Move log · block log · uploads · Abuse filter log - either an unauthorized bot, a confusing username, or a misguided editor. In any case it's confusing. Please block. --Prahlad (talk to me / what I've done) 06:28, 30 August 2020 (UTC)

Not done. Not a bot. He explains on userpage clearly, what he's going to do, and that's not misleading. Only one upload so far. Taivo (talk) 08:14, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
Ok tganks. --Prahlad (talk to me / what I've done) 15:27, 30 August 2020 (UTC)

Request for protection[edit]

Hi, there's been a lot of vandalism on File:Louis Tomlinson November 2014.jpg and File:Harry Styles November 2014.jpg recently. File:Simon Cowell in December 2011.jpg is also connected but hasn't had as much activity. Thanks, Aranya (talk) 15:38, 30 August 2020 (UTC)

User:Fuking Jag Off[edit]

COM:IU Just one contribution to Commons... so far - File:Madden21.webp which was probably intended as part of a reverted unhelpful edit on Wikipedia - see here. Thanks. Crep171166 (talk) 06:22, 31 August 2020 (UTC)

IP block request[edit]

Hi, Could someone block 146.158.191.145 as they're vandalising images - A week ago they'd been adding "Opel Corsa" to Vauxhall Corsa and Holden Corsa images and they also keep adding "Category:Volkswagen Tranporter LT (2nd generation)" (non existent cat) to an image,
Clearly NOTHERE to contribute to Commons. Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 16:59, 1 September 2020 (UTC)

@Davey2010: reports of clear vandalism belong at COM:ANV, and you neglected to notify the user.   — Jeff G. please ping or talk to me 21:16, 1 September 2020 (UTC)
My bad, Not the first time I've confused this board with AIV and probably won't be the last, Yes I neglected to tell them as this wasn't a discussion on their behaviour - It was purely a report, You don't report people you report at AIV ... same applies here.
Withdrawn on the basis that that IP had stopped before this report. –Davey2010Talk 21:25, 1 September 2020 (UTC)
